Hot Wheels MEA Candy Cane Wonderland Gasser

A piece that has grown to legendary status among Hot Wheels gasser collectors the world over,   extremely limited and never meant for the retail market- this Employee piece sparks so many of the seasons curiosities and excitements when it comes to gift giving.  These were handed out at the 2018 Mattel Employee Appreciation dinner dance. With the years theme being Candy Cane Wonderland, that sentiment carries through to the gift car which was limited to 425 and individually numbered on the base. featuring a fan favorite casting- the ’55 Bel Air Gasser, it was a car that saw many releases that year but none as iconic as this one. With spectraflame candy stripes on pearl white paint with incredible tampo work from front to back and even white dusted red chrome seats in the interior,   this piece has every detail covered right down to the holly (and berries,   but maybe the equipment too ;).

– This particular piece was signed by Designer Brendan Vetuskey at the 2022 Annual Collectors Convention in Los Angeles. The car was placed back into the original cardboard container and tissue quickly and subsequently the signature does have a smudge,   but it is indeed genuine and at the time may have been the only one signed by the designer himself.

– This piece is number 264/425, a very short run that would be hard enough to come by as is, but this has been made even harder by the fact that it was an employee piece and only let free into collector hands by an employee that was happy to part with it.  The number of these that is actually in the general public hands is unknown and it’s likely that a large portion remain with the employees that they were originally given to.

Don’t miss this chance to grab up a fantastic gift for any collector or just a shot to buy up your new favorite holiday ornament,   because this piece won’t stay in the shop long.  Grab it before years end,   because after that it’s coming down and might not be around again for awhile!
